“Come on…..please….for me? It’s not like it’s a date or anything…i just need someone to go with…” Hanuel had been trying to persuade her friend, Minsoo (C.A.P) , to go to her school winter festival for the past half hour, but he was reluctant. Minsoo had just graduated high school a year ago, but even during his high school years he never really liked the school festivals much. They were always too loud. Too noisy. There wasn’t a single place that was quiet enough for him to sleep or read. And now Hanuel wanted to drag him to hers. To make it worse she woke him up so early in the morning. Minsoo took a look at the clock. 9:30 AM. Minsoo groaned. He usually wouldn’t wake up until at least 12:00 PM. If only i didn’t have a weakness for cute girls…,Minsoo thought. As he heard Hanuel go on and on about the festival activities, he reached up and tugged on the sleeve of her sweater. “Okay, i’ll go,” Minsoo said defeated. He stuffed his face in his pillow. Hanuel squealed in delight, giving Minsoo a quick peck on the cheek. A light shade of pink crept over Minsoo’s face, but Hanuel was oblivious as she happily left his room to let him get ready. Pabo…, Minsoo thought as he watched her leave. Then he grabbed his clothes and went to his shower, whistling a happy tune as he walked.

Hanuel waited patiently for Minsoo. When he had finished getting ready, they walked to Hanuel’s school together. When they got there they could see that there were already tons of students and teachers participating in the activities. Hanuel could even spot some couples holding hands as they went to each classroom to see what activities there were. Winter was the season of love after all. Hanuel sighed. She had wanted to ask Minsoo to come with her as her date, but she knew it would it would probably be awkward for him. He was two years older after all. I’m nothing but a little sister to him, Hanuel thought. ” Where do you want to go first? ” Minsoo said, snapping Hanuel out of her thoughts. ” hehe~ finally taking interest in the festival now? i thought you didn’t want to come,” Hanuel teased. “I’m not, but i don’t want to stand in the same spot all day. We’re blocking some people,” Minsoo replied bluntly. Hanuel turned around to see a group of students trying to get past her and Minsoo. Aish, i was lost in my thoughts for too long, Hanuel thought to herself as she lightly slapped her cheeks in punishment. She felt Minsoo pull her into a nearby classroom. This classroom had various games set up on numerous desks. The student host came by and greeted Hanuel and Minsoo,” Do you guys want to play? For every game you win, you can win a prize of your choice.” The student host gestured to the colorfully assorted stuffed animals on the bookshelves. ” No than-” Minsoo didn’t get a chance to refuse. Hanuel had dragged him over to one of the game stations set up in the classroom. ” Let’s play this,” Hanuel said tugging on Minsoo’s sleeve. The game was *Kai Bai Bo (Rock Paper Scissors*), Hanuel’s favorite game. At the station, there were 5 student hosts. To win the prize, the player would have to beat all 5 hosts. Minsoo chuckled. He still though the school festival was lame, but he did like a challenge. He saw Hanuel looking at a pink bunny sitting on one of the prize shelves. Minsoo walked up to the first host, feeling confident. I’ll win for you, Hanuel-ah, Minsoo thought. Then he began to play.
After beating all the hosts, Minsoo proudly reached for the pink bunny. Hanuel stared at it wide eyed. She hadn’t beaten all the hosts like Minsoo had. Minsoo gently placed the bunny in her hands. “T-thanks..” Hanuel said shyly. “You’re welcome,” Minsoo said. He flashed his beautiful eye smile as her. Hanuel felt heart skip a beat. “Let’s go to the other classrooms,” Minsoo said. Hanuel nodded and followed behind him.
The rest of the day was quite tiring for Minsoo. Hanuel had made him visit almost every single classroom. There was a karaoke room, a dance competition room, a cafe booth, a costume contest, and a room that sold Korean snacks. The only room they hadn’t visited was the room labeled “We Got Married”. The activity was based off a popular TV show Minsoo had seen his older sisters watch. He had seen a few couples dressed up in wedding clothes taking pictures together when he and Hanuel walked by it. Minsoo sighed. He was disappointed. He was secretly hoping that Hanuel would drag him to that room, but she had ignored it running excitedly to the next one. It was the only room that he wanted to go to. She would’ve looked beautiful i bet, Minsoo thought. Hanuel had walked outside so Minsoo followed behind her quickly, zipping up his jacket to keep warm from the cold.
Hanuel stood in front of some trees behind the school. The sun had already set and it was dark outside. There was a sign tacked on the trees that read “Haunted Forest”. Minsoo never really believed in ghosts and such, but the darkness gave the forest an evil feel. He shivered. Hanuel grabbed his wrist and pulled him to the path that started the “Haunted Forest”. “I bet i can go through this whole forest without getting scared,” Hanuel challenged smiling. “Okay, but if you get scared, then you owe me because i’ll probably have to save you~” Minsoo teased. Then they walked into the forest together. As they walked they could hear hushed whispers and branches cracking as if someone was following them. Hanuel looked around into the trees to see a human like figure hanging from a tree. A rope was around its neck. Hanuel shut her eyes tightly and walked closer to Minsoo. Then behind her, she saw a zombie like person grab her wrist. She screamed, pulling away and held onto Minsoo’s arm. Minsoo couldn’t understand why she was so scared. After all, it was only the student hosts trying to scare them. At least i’ll win the bet, Minsoo said shrugging. He liked having Hanuel close to him anyway. Minsoo continued to walk through the forest, guiding Hanuel. Throughout the whole walk, Hanuel would continuously get scared by the student hosts and hold Minsoo closer to her; his warmth gave her comfort. She could feel her legs wobble. She felt as if she would crumple to the ground any time now. Minsoo noticed Hanuel getting weaker. He protectively wrapped his arm around her waist and tried to help lead her out of the forest. “M-Minsoo….I’m too scared….,” Hanuel said meekly. She was trembling. Minsoo nodded and motioned for her to get on his back. Then he carried her out of the forest. Minsoo is so strong…,Hanuel though blushing. She nestled her face in his neck. When they were out of the forest, Hanuel got off of Minsoo’s back. “Now for what you owe me for saving you…” Minsoo gently placed his lips on hers. His arm wrapped around her waist pulling her closer to him. Hanuel was sure Minsoo could hear her heart beat, but she didn’t care. She kissed him back as she wrapped her arms around his neck. “So next year you should bring me to this festival of yours again,” Minsoo said pulling away from her. ” I thought you didn’t like festivals,” Hanuel said laughing. “Yeah, but i want to bring my girlfriend next year,” Minsoo said. “Girlfriend?” Hanuel was confused. Minsoo interlaced his fingers through hers. “Yeah, you’ll be my girlfriend right?” he smiled shyly. Hanuel chuckled to herself and nodded. Minsoo smiled. “So wanna go through the forest again?”
